Good afternoon ! I pray you all are doing well
Here is what stood out to me:
15 For by now I could have stretched out my hand and struck you and your people with plague, and you would have been destroyed from the earth.
16 But for this purpose I have caused you to stand: to show you my strength, and so that my name may be declared in all the earth.
30 But as for you and your servants, I know that you do not yet fear the Lord God."
33 So Moses left Pharaoh, went out of the city, and spread out his hands to the Lord , and the thunder and the hail ceased, and the rain stopped pouring on the earth.
So the first two verses revisits Kia question from a few chapters ago, which becomes more and more clear as we continue to read - God is determine to show His full power as control and have His name stand above all as He frees His people from slavery
The later two verses were what stood out to me the most. In verse 30, Moses is talking to Pharaoh and telling him that he knows his heart isn't genuine. Moses knows that Pharaoh is just asking Moses to pray so that the hail storm will stop but that Pharaoh's heart will still be harden (the Lord told him so). But in v. 33 we can see, Moses leaves Pharaoh and prays for him. Moses didn't wait, he didn't ponder, he went and he prayed. SAY WHAT?!?!? I know that I wouldn't NOT have done what Moses did! Why would I ? Why should I? Only to have relief from to Pharaoh and the Egpytians but not to the Israelites because Pharaoh's heart was still hardened to God! Yea, naw son!
What really amazing though, is not only did Moses PRAY, God ANSWERED! Moses was faithful to God and God answered. Both knew Pharaoh wasn't going to change his mind after the hail storm and let God's people go, BUT Moses still prayed and God still ANSWERED. It wasn't about Pharaoh, it was about the act of faithful PRAY and God's powerfull-ness, grace and mercy! What a mighty God we serve!
How many times have we not prayed for someone because of how they treated us or someone we knew/cared about or just because they person was done right evil/mean?! I know I still have to grow in the area not to judge those asking me to pray for them, even if that person hasn't really done anything to me or someone else, but I just am being judgmental because they ask me to pray for their health but they ain't trying to go to the gym or see or doctor or eat right or pray for their finances but they are always out partying or spending money they know they need to save for rent or gas or just for a rainy day. But if Moses didn't judge and went right to pray for Pharaoh, who am I to not pray for someone when they ask??? Who I am not only pray for those who are nice to me or doing things for me? That doesn't make me any more like Christ (even though Moses had no knowledge of the coming savior, he did what was right in the eyes of God). Christ prayed for those who mistreated Him regularly, He prayed for those who crucified Him (while He was dieing ON THE CROSS) - "Lord, forgive them for they know not what they do!" How powerful! So the least I can do is pray for someone when they ask me to. And if you are one of those people who are "super busy" or "forgetful" - WRITE IT DOWN, make a note of it some where so you remember to pray for that person - we are told in the word to pray for our enemies and we must do just that.
EVERYONE needs prayer, do matter their station in life, each of us needs prayer, daily, shot, on the hour every hour cause we all are facing something, we all at growing in Christ and face our own challenges. This thing called life isn't easy and we each face a different journey but can each benefit from prayer. So, I challenge you, and myself, to be open, non-judgmental, and timely in our prayers for others, especially those who aren't closest to us.
ok, I'm done, love ya'll!
