Good morning beautiful people! I don't know about y'all, but yesterday's Surrender Fast reading was ON POINT! How often to be find ourselves just plan busy (with the cares of the world) and not productive (about God's business/His Plan). It was a great reality check and great confirmation that renewal/rest is important and we have to remember to take that time for ourselves. We have to take care of what God has given us. I think it was an eye opening statement to connect pride with being busy - it's so true, when you sit down and look at why we are so busy and so tired, cause we're running around thinking that "this can't get done (done right) if I don't know it" or "the world is depending on me to get this thing done NOW" I do it all the time smh. But with this new perspective I think we each are challenged to do better, because know we know better :-)
OK, so from this Chapter in Exodus:
1 Now the Lord had said to Moses, “I will bring one more plague on Pharaoh and on Egypt. After that, he will let you go from here, and when he does, he will drive you out completely. 2 Tell the people that men and women alike are to ask their neighbors for articles of silver and gold.” 3 (The Lord made the Egyptians favorably disposed toward the people, and Moses himself was highly regarded in Egypt by Pharaoh’s officials and by the people.)
I am really drawn to verse 1 because I can only imagine what it must of have been like, the comfort and relief Moses must have felt when the Lord gave him a deadline for expecting this great blessing! WOW ! Some times that's all I really want - Lord just tell me WHEN! I am working on growing my faith to trust God for my great blessing (just like Moses had to push past the doubt and allow God to use him) but there is something to be said for a timeline - IJS! Up to this point Moses has done sign and wonder after sign and wonder and the Lord has kept Pharaoh's heart hardened, but to hear the sweet words that after this Pharaoh will let God's Chosen people go - what an awesome sense of peace must have fallen on Moses.
In verse 2 and 3, I find encouragement, like in Luke 20:43 (I will make your enemies your foot stools) God is showing favor to His people amongst those who have caused them great pain. In the midst of all that Pharaoh is allowing to happen to the Egyptian people because he is so stubborn, the Israelites still are in a position where they can ask of the Egyptians for silver and gold! Again, going back to the beginning of Exodus, in Chapter 3 where God tells Moses the people will not leave empty, God is showing Himself faithful (for His word will not return to Him void). There is something to be said about favor !
be encouraged everyone - have a great day :-)
