Good morning !!!! I pray you all were able to have a restful night's sleep
So, Romans 8 has to be my favorite chapter in the whole Bible (as a whole) the is just so much in this chapter that is so encouraging and comforting. In this go around of reading Romans 8, these verses to out:
5 For those who live according to the flesh have their outlook shaped by the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit have their outlook shaped by the things of the Spirit.
6 For the outlook of the flesh is death, but the outlook of the Spirit is life and peace,
18 For I consider that our present sufferings cannot even be compared to the glory that will be revealed to us.
This thing called "life" ain't easy but we certainly don't make it any easier own ourselves when we live through our flesh. It may feel good (at the time/in the moment), it may e what everyone else is doing and we just want to fit in, but we aren't called it fit in- we are called to stand out and raise the standard. We must live according to the Spirit. And not just because that what God wants but because its the best choice for us. We want our lives to be shaped by the Spirit so we can live according to God's will for our lives and with that comes PEACE!
What a beautiful thing peace is. It doesn't mean life suddenly gets easy, but in the midst of storms and frustrations comes PEACE and that makes pushing forward through the test bearable. Peace keeps us going because we know that in spite of what we are facing, in spite of our "present sufferings" there is a glory that has yet been revealed that we have to look forward to! Ain't God good?!? We just need to follow what He has laid out for us. I can be certain that all the mess and frustration and difficulties and "why God?" Moments will pale in the comparison to the glory to be gain in heaven - but to get there I must allow the Spirit to be in control and not my flesh/sin. It's a challenge but its worth it !!!
Y'all have a great day
