Hey everyone ! I pray all is well :-)
So as we close out Job and another forum experience, I want to thank you all that participated abs prayed throughout this process. I trust that even if you weren't able to post every day you were at least able to read the chapters and grow a little deeper in God's Word. I look forward to the next assignment God places on Quia 's heart / thank you Kia for allow God to use you to help us all be closer to Him and to each other!
So the verses that stood out to me:
Ch. 40
8 Would you indeed annul my justice? Would you declare me guilty so that you might be right?
So the questioning continues between God and Job and God rightly continues to remind Job who is in control and really has all the wisdom and therefore the right to name the blameless/righteous over those who aren't. I feel like this stood out to me the most out off this verbal thrashing God is giving Job because I feel like I've found myself in situations where I was willing to be bold enough to say "Lord YOU'RE wrong" just so I could be right/feel better. How crazy is that - God, the creator and definition of Justice, the Beginning and The End, I am that I AM, be wrong ?!? But we get to those low places at times where we don't want to address the larger issue (the we are the issue, we dropped the ball, we have to wait on something, etc). But if you really break it down, that's where Job was coming from - Job ran down the list of "all he did right" and therefore felt self-justified leading him to believe he was right over God and His actions. We have to be careful to keep things in perspective. And remember that are relationship with God shouldn't be about "oh let me act right so I can be self justified and feel like I deserved great things and can be blameless" NAW not quite. And I know I've been there but praise God He loves me enough to show me what He put Job through so I could learn rather than put me through a full "Job experience"
In Ch. 42 we see the vindication of Job before His friends. After all that Job had been through, in losing so much, having terrible "friends" try to comfort him, and then God giving it to him to humble him, it's about time God got around to setting Job's friends straight and restoring Job. So even if you haven't read all of Job, you likely know the ending of the story - God gives Job twice as much as he had before. But I am grateful that we really walked through the whole chapter because there was a lot that had to happen for such a blessing to be given unto Job.
At the beginning of this chapter we see that Job gets his two seconds in to admit his folly in pumping himself up - as if he had any other option LOL. BUT what's also seen is we also see The Lord set his "friends " straight and that leads to the blessing God gives Job
7 After the Lord had spoken these things to Job, he said to Eliphaz the Temanite, "My anger is stirred up against you and your two friends, because you have not spoken about me what is right, as my servant Job has.
8 So now take seven bulls and seven rams and go to my servant Job and offer a burnt offering for yourselves. And my servant Job will intercede for you, and I will respect him, so that I do not deal with you according to your folly, because you have not spoken about me what is right, as my servant Job has."
9 So they went, Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite, and did just as the Lord had told them; and the Lord had respect for Job.
10 So the Lord restored what Job had lost after he prayed for his friends, and the Lord doubled all that had belonged to Job.
So, even though Job had to deal with these three terrible unsupportive people being around him, God uses the. As a vehicle to usher in the blessing He had for Job. WOW! So The Lord made, what should have been friend but were actually ENEMIES (since they didn't not speak rightly of God) Job's footstool to his DOUBLE PORTION BLESSING. The journey to verse 10 in Chp 42 was not easy but Job didnt curse The Lord so The Lord blessed Him and that blessing started with those around him that chose the path of self-righteousness over being loving towards someone in need. Soooo be mindful who around you you tear down God very well may have a double portion waiting for them on the other side of their journey to Ch. 42:10 and you don't want to find yourself on the wrong side of God in that situation
Y'all be blessed - till next time!
