Good morning lovelies!!
I hope you all are having a great day so far. I am excited to be joining you guys in this reading! Invite your friends to the party lol. The more the merrier. I pray that we will all be enlightened and gain new insight while reading this book. So a couple things really spoke to me while reading this chapter. Pages 10 says "the devil has no legal right to him; however it is up to him to defend his rights. No demon can remain when the Christian seriously desires him to go!" I think that this is a great reminder of how knowing who we are affects how we operate. Because we are so whimsical, meaning we just kind of go where the wind blows (i.e. our circumstances, situations, emotions) we have no anchor to keep us in place. If we knew beyond any doubt that we had an identity in Christ (even if we may not know the extent of it yet) we would be better able to monitor when we allow ourselves to be open to the influence and demonic attacks of the devil. We may not know WHY we are here, but we should know WHOSE we are while were here. That being the case, we could be more watchful of what we do and who we allow into our sphere of influence. Additionally, pg. 11 lists some reasons why some Christians aren't ready to get rid of demons:
1) Embarrassment at the need for deliverance
2) Because they have walked in agreement with spirits for so long that they don't want to change
3) Some Christians don't want to really live in purity
Smh! That is so poignant to me, especially that last point. I have to admit that I am guilty of this. I like to pick and choose when I want to live a "pure" life. Or rather, certain areas of my life that I am not necessarily ready to purge from impurity (AHEM, SEX) *COUGH COUGH*. It is these things that disallow us from fully functioning in th way that God desires us to as well as opens us up to areas of demonic influence. Sigh, help me holy ghost.
