Hey y'all - I know some have just recently gotten you books, don't be overwhelmed, the chapters are short so it really won't take you much time to vetch up so dive right. For those who do already have your books, make sure you post as you read - we all have different ways of receiving a message as we read, share what's out in your heart and help bless someone else by the power of agreement or shedding new light on a topic
Ok, I'm off my soap box lol
In this chapter in again drawn to the ACTION emphasis throughout especially when it comes to repentance (ironically posted on FACEBOOK about that lol) it's more than just asking God to forgive you for _____ it's about TURNING AWAY FROM THAT SIN. It involves an action past words, which we need to say for sure but those words need to be followed by an action not to commit the sin or enter into an environment or situation knowing it could cause you to sin.
I like what the author said about deliverance not being about us gaining relief from a problem (making us feel better) but it's about making us more like Christ. I think it's our natural state as humans in this world to make things about us but we are t here for us we are here to be used by God for His will for others, and to be used we need to be more like Christ and less like this world.
Going back to the beginning of the chapter, when talking about honesty, what stood out to me was the parrele between light and honesty vs darkness and deceit. "Lack of honesty keeps areas of one's life in darkness ... Any sin not confesses gives demons a legal right to remain" sooooo though it may hurt to be honest or be embarrassing/uncomfortable it has to be done so that we can have deliverance and stand by the statement that demons have no right to remain in us/our families/our homes/our communities.
And jumping to the end ... The weapons listed to fight in warfare: submission the blood of Jesus, the word of God, and our testimony - that was a powerful list for me. I never really thought of the first one or the last one as a weapon I could use, I've always just heard about The Blood of Jesus and The Word of God. It helped me put into perspective to great importance of submission and of the test/trials and uniqueness of our lives that create our testimonies. It sucks going through difficult, uncertain seasons but it's a weapon being formed/sharpened for warfare ... Another reason to rejoice as Paul tells us we should/he did when life brought tests/trials
Stay encouraged !
