Ok, two things stood out to me while reading Mark 8
11 Then the Pharisees came and began to argue with Jesus, asking for a sign from heaven to test him.
12 Sighing deeply in his spirit he said, "Why does this generation look for a sign? I tell you the truth, no sign will be given to this generation."
I often find myself like the Pharisees - I want God to show up and show out and do wonders from Heaven in ever situation in my life, with every trouble or frustration or heart break. And not that The Lord can't, He can do all things, but my focus on needing/wanting a sign from Heaven takes away from my focus on who is providing the sign/meeting my need. It reminds me about how The Lord came to Elijah in the wilderness, God wasn't in the strong wind, the earthquake or the fire, God came in a still small voice. Some times we are looking and longing for something grand when we just need to quiet ourselves and listen for God in a still small voice. Yes, God does grand things and offers signs from Heaven but that isn't the only way He acts/answers prayers/moves in our lives or on our behalf. God works behind the scenes, God works in mysterious was. God is working on something now that will be a blessing to us in the future. So stay encouraged, as I to must stay encouraged, in your waiting for God to move, continue to pray and trust and go to Him with you needs because He is listening and He does care
Next,
23 He took the blind man by the hand and brought him outside of the village. Then he spit on his eyes, placed his hands on his eyes and asked, "Do you see anything?"
24 Regaining his sight he said, "I see people, but they look like trees walking."
25 Then Jesus placed his hands on the man's eyes again. And he opened his eyes, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.
This section is title "two stage healing" in my Bible. This speaks to me because I know there are times when I go to God for a healing expecting it all to happen at once when it's a two stage process. That can be disheartening at times - it's bad enough I have some problem but now I have to go through a two stage process to get healing. Pushes past the frustration of not getting the healing all at once, look at the blind man in this example, he didn't convey frustration when Jesus asked him if he saw anything - he was grateful to see period, even if everyone looked like trees. But also notice the man didn't run off satisfied with the increase/improvement he had, cause he trusted God for FULL healing and deliverance. I think there are times when I've been impatient or have had a misunderstanding of God's true love for me and I've settle for partial healing/blessings - well this must be as good as it gets, why would God give me more or totally fix this situation? But we can't limit God and we can't diminish His love for us - He wants to fully restore us !
We have to stay encouraged enough to stay by His side and have faith enough to know He'll bless us with full healing, even if its a two stage process. Fret not, just hold on and trust Him for He has all power in His hands!
Love y'all !
