Hey every body, I pray you all are doing well!
Here is what stood out to me in Mark 11:
12 Now the next day, as they went out from Bethany, he was hungry.
13 After noticing in the distance a fig tree with leaves, he went to see if he could find any fruit on it. When he came to it he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs.
14 He said to it, "May no one ever eat fruit from you again." And his disciples heard it.
I actually find thing interesting because Jesus cursed a tree that wasn't bearing fruit even though it wasn't the season for figs. I first felt like this goes again the part of scripture that talks about how there is a time and season for everything but then something else spoke to me - Jesus is going to come expecting from us (the fruit we bear) and we need to always be ready! We can't chill in the off season, there is no off season when it comes to bearing fruit for God's kingdom. So we need to be as
Passionate for Christ on Monday Thursday Friday and Saturday as we are Sunday Tuesday and Wednesday. We have to be continually bearing fruit cause we know not when the Master will come to see what we have to show for ourselves.
This scripture also opened my eyes to the fact that we can't just put on a facade like we have it all together (green leaves) but have to fruit to bear. I feel like Jesus wouldn't have cursed the fig tree had it not had green leaves on it, had it not looked like it may have fruit, only for Him to waste His time walking over to the tree to find it empty. If you're gonna show off to the world you best have fruit behind those leaves - don't have people thinking your working for the kingdom only to get to you and find you empty/bare (not filled with scripture, the Holy Spirit, love, forgiveness, peace, joy, etc.) oath wise you'll find yourself like the tree in this story, withered and cursed.
Love yall
